Boosting the Productivity of H2-Driven Biocatalysis in a Commercial Hydrogenation Flow Reactor Using H2 From Water Electrolysis

چکیده
Translation of redox biocatalysis into a commercial hydrogenation flow reactor, with in-built electrolytic H 2 generation, was achieved using immobilized enzyme systems. Carbon-supported biocatalysts were first tested in batch mode, and then transferred continuous columns for -driven, NADH-dependent asymmetric ketone reductions. The thus handled comparably to heterogeneous metal catalysts, but operated at room temperature 1–50 bar , highlighting that biocatalytic strategies enable implementation reactions under mild–moderate conditions. Continuous demonstrated as strategy process intensification; high conversions short residence times, biocatalyst turnover frequency productivity. These results show the prospect enzymes reactor infrastructure designed conventional hydrogenations.

A novel bioactive haemodialysis system using dissolved dihydrogen (H2) produced by water electrolysis: a clinical trial.
BACKGROUND Chronic inflammation in haemodialysis (HD) patients indicates a poor prognosis. However, therapeutic approaches are limited. Hydrogen gas (H(2)) ameliorates oxidative and inflammatory injuries to organs in animal models. We developed an HD system using a dialysis solution with high levels of dissolved H(2) and examined the clinical effects. METHODS Dialysis solution with H(2) (aver...

متن کاملHeterolytic H2 Cleavage and Catalytic Hydrogenation by an Iron Metallaboratrane.
Reversible, heterolytic addition of H2 across an iron-boron bond in a ferraboratrane with formal hydride transfer to the boron gives iron-borohydrido-hydride complexes. These compounds catalyze the hydrogenation of alkenes and alkynes to the respective alkanes. Notably, the boron is capable of acting as a shuttle for hydride transfer to substrates. The results are interesting in the context of ...
